Heber Trip - Day 2

Day 2 - August 5, 2011

Agenda: Swimming, seeing the new house, playing, and Aaron's mini mission reunion

Driving to the Kamas Pool, which is an AMAZING indoor facility in a podunk town, about 20 minutes from Heber. This pool is equipped with a big slide, kid area, lazy river, hot tub, and a big pool with diving boards. Now that my parents reside in Heber, we will be frequenting this pool many more times! Oh yeah, it is super cheap too!

Bryson, Stockton, Abby, and Haylee all ready to go!

These kids were excited on the drive there, they were chanting KAMAS POOL over and over!

At the pool:

The way cool slide that I went on at least a zillion times.....thank you kids!

Aaron waiting for Stockton to come out of the slide at the kiddie swim area.

This kid is a water maniac! He was so tired by lunch!

Some good friends of ours, The Stein Family, who are in our ward just so happened to be in the area on a family getaway, so we invited them to come swim with us. Here is Eli having fun with Stockton and Aaron on the big slide.

Stockton and Aaron waving at the top! I had sore legs the next day after hiking up those stairs so much!

Barley beat Eli out of the slide!

We also checked out mom and dad's new house, it looks much different today. It is a beautiful home that sits on 6 acres! My dad has him a tractor and some snowmobiles and other toys for us to enjoy. Can't wait for it to be donee!

Enjoying popsicles at Brad and Becky's!

Stockton loves Haylee! Always following her around, and Haylee takes great care of him!

Another reason why we came on this weekend getaway, is because Aaron had a mini mission reunion in Midway, a cute town by Heber. One of his mission buddies was visiting Utah who is from Australia, (loved hearing the acccent!) so they got together a get together! Aaron served his mission with President Monson's grandson (Ann Dibb's son) so we had the reunion at President and Sister Monson's house in Midway! Pretty cool huh! It was such a fun night. It is so funny to watch all the people that drive by the house and slow down to look in the big window out front. Ya know, cuz all the lights were on and there was a party going on. (no President Monson though!) President and Sister Overton (Aaron's mission President and Wife) were also there, and I love them dearly....since the first time I met them at the first reunion back when we had no kids! I've always felt a connection to them, and love to listen to their counsel and stories. What was great about this particular reunion is that it was a small one so we had more one on one with President and Sister Overton and really got to talk and catch up with them. Pres. O and I were talking and he was telling me his middle name is Allen and that he is an Allen, and that he thinks we are related. So after that night and later on the next week when we got home my mom started to look into it, and we are related! I'm like his 5th cousin, my dad is his 4th cousin.....if I remember right! Something close to that.....! I'm not suprised at all, I've always felt such a connection to him! Truly an amazing couple they are. It was such a great night where Aaron and I left a better couple! I love hearing about Aaron's mission, and the expeirences he had. So grateful for experiences like these!

Our First Family Trip to Heber City, Utah

August 4, 2011

Day 1 - The Drive Down

(only 3 hours)

Stockton trying not to smile!

Abby snuggling up to Gma Allen, who hitched a ride back to Heber.

Just for an update. Why were we driving to Heber? My parents decided to move there! They sold their house here in Pocatello back in July, and are currently building a home in Heber. They are hoping it will be done soon. My oldest brother and his family live in Heber, and that is where they have been shacking up why they are building their home. So we decided we better go check out my parents new place they call home! Not their actual home....the town that is and my brother's place! I'm not sure why they got sick of us here in Pocatello and decided to move??? haha just kidding Mom! I'm already loving it when they come and visit!!

Roasting Marshmellows!

August 1, 2011

We love roasting marshmellows. If I remember right, this was FHE!

This particular night we were roasting strawberry marshmellows. Love that marshmellows are flavored these days!!

Stockton would grab a marshmellow out of the bag, take a bite, and then put it on the table!

Seriously, this pictures speaks for itself! TWO PEAS IN A POD!

Definitley good times!

Popsicles

Can't forget the popsicle pictures.....on that same July 25th day!!

Swimming Lessons

August 2011

Abby Swimming Lessons

The great thing about doing swim lessons in August is Abby was the only one in her class, therefore it was like having private lessons (what I wanted to do) and only having to pay for the regular lesson price!

Abby did great and definitely improved in her swimming!

Of course Stockton got in on the fun. This boy loves water, and is my swimmer.....no fear!

Getting out to jump in....I bribed her just a little with Farr's Ice Cream IF she would jump in by herself and go under water.....

It worked!!!

Great Swimming Abs!

I love watching my kids do new things, and getting better. One of the great joys I have as a mom!
