The True Story Behind the Rescue!!

This is the first time that I have ever blogged but it is very important that I tell my side of the story behind the mission we have now classified as "Hodges 911". If you are are not familiar with this mission please visit Ryan and Christy Hodges blog and read their post "My Near Death Experience". So here is the mission report from the eyes of Aaron Moore also known as "Bear".

So there I was laying in bed and it was a little after 11:10 pm and I had just finished watching a basketball game (Suns vs Spurs for any of you that care oh and the Spurs won the series). I was relaxing reading a good book ("Tax Free Retirement" which is a great book and would recommend it to anyone). Amy was fast asleep (which she lied and told Christy she was wide awake) when the phone rang and she woke up and grabbed the phone. My first thought when someone calls that late, is someone died or someone is in the hospital.... no matter what early morning and late night phone calls are never a good thing. By the tone of Amy's voice I knew something was wrong and Amy was quick to volunteer me to get out of the comfort of my own bed and stop reading my great book. Come to find out Christy was hearing noises in the house and was spooked and needed reassurance that no one was in the house. So I put on a sweatshirt and grabbed my glasses (my glasses are waaaay old and don't even work!) and I jumped into my "patrol vehicle."

I was only 3 minutes away from the scene also known as the Hodges residence. Upon my arrival I see a women peaking out her front window (who I thought was Christy but with my blurred vision I wasn't 100% sure) with a phone glued to her ear (she was still speaking with Amy). I had my trusty new golf club on my front seat, I hadn't gotten around to putting it in my golf bag. I was thinking do I bring my weapon of choice and risk breaking my NEW golf club??? Or use my 2 "guns" that I have ... a.k.a. my own personal strength..... which is what I chose, golf clubs are expensive these days.

While fighting the gusty wind, I preceded to enter the residence and Christy looked panicked! Good thing "Bear" arrived and answered the call in such a timely manner. The first thing I wanted to do was secure the scene, starting with the very creepy, dark, lots of hiding places basement! At the top of the stairs I found a trusty broom which Christy gave me permission to break if needed. AHHH GEEE Thanks Christy! All for the safety of the Hodges! Way to sacrifice that ONE broom! (sorry I wasn't willing to sacrifice my golf club)

As I was going down the stairs, pratically stumbling because as I mentioned before my glasses are worthless and I can't see worth a dang, I could hear Christy whispering and giving Amy a play by play over the phone. I'm in the basement and in the back of my mind I was thinking how I could scare the crap out of Christy so easily because she was on edge, but I was mature and continued my search in the basement. The basement was clear and secure and it didn't even smell like Ryan had just sat on the throne this time!

Back on the main level, I saw a little relief in Christy's eyes. (she was probably really worried more about that damn (in Australia that is not a bad word) broom than anything else!) After securing the main level and finding that the rest of the home was "bad guy" free, my "Hodges 911" mission was complete. Ryan would be home in less than a hour, so "Bear" received permission to return back to home base.
After getting home and back in my comfy, warm bed Amy decided she needed to talk for the next hour. And I just wanted to finish the chapter in my book. Amy kept saying, "do you think Christy is okay" "should I call her?" "Maybe I should go over there till Ryan gets home." Finally we all settled down and Amy shutup and went to sleep and I finished my chapter.

Now, at this time I would like to thank Ryan (who is a BBQ grillin' stud) for calling on me to protect his family. (the real story is he told Christy to call the Moore's for help and protection) He could of called on anyone, but he chose ME! That is deep man! I know you would do the same for my family!
And this is the story behind "Hodges 911."

Look at me mom!

Just some funny pictures. Abby loves playing on the stairs, I don't like it to much but what do ya do??

The cutest little mommy....

I just love watching Abby with her babies. The way she holds them, bounces them, feeds them, puts them in her high chair, pushes them around in her little stroller, tells me to be quiet because they are sleeping, wraps them up in a blanket, reads to them, makes sure they are sitting right next to her, and today when she was watching Barney and they were singing the song at the end she held up her baby to the screen so she could give Barney a kiss too. It amazes me how nurturing Abby (and little girls in general) is. Here are a few pictures of the miniature mommy:

OFF THE FLOOR AND INTO MY BED!!

Abby has been a good girl lately so we decided to upgrade her from the floor to a bed! (I'm only kidding)
Today we finally took the crib down and put Abby's bed together, and we had lots of fun doing it. I still have to get the knobs on the bed posts, after I figure out some cute way to do it......
When I put her to bed tonight and was watching her sleep in her new setup, I was a bit sad. It is crazy how fast they grow up. My baby isn't a baby anymore!! Before I know it she'll have her drivers license and will be driving around town while talking on her cell phone and texting, actually with the way gas prices are she'll be pushing her car or using public transportation. !! (or hitching a ride from the rich kids....)

Well, I'm going to get back to watching the Jazz. Go Jazz!!!

The big move!

There has been more going on in our family than just saying goodbye to things (binky and crib). We have also been busy welcoming Grandma and Grandpa Allen and my parents to Pocatello!! Life has been pretty crazy and fun lately. (the part that made it so crazy is that Abby decided to get sick during all of this moving stuff) I'd have to say the past week has been rather tiring for everyone involved especially for my dad and Aaron who where the main men handling all the heavy stuff during the move. After a few trips to Raft River and only one piano (i say the piano because Aaron doesn't like to move pianos!) they got it all done!! Anyways Welcome to Pocatello Mom and Dad and Gram and Gramps!! We are so excited for you!

Here is my parents home - It is so nice for them and in a great area. I don't have a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Allen's house but they are over by the Riverside golf course so Grandpa is happy especially since he got himself his very own golf cart!!

And out the door she goes......

Abby did the funniest, cutest thing today. I found her walking to the door with her Shamu lunchbox in hand, along with a book and basketball (the basketball dropped out of her hand by the time I took the picture) and she was saying "bye mom" over and over. I asked her if she was going to school or shopping, and she just smiled. The things they do and think of!! I am just so grateful that I get to stay home with Abby and be a part of all the funny, cute things she does. Kids teach us so much.

My sleepy heads!

Well, we said goodbye to the binky and we have also said goodbye to the crib. I think she has been wanting to get out of her crib for awhile now but just recently she refuses to sleep in it. She wasn't liking the caged in feeling and wants more space! We have had her little day bed for like 2 months now we just haven't set it up yet. So right now I made her a nice little bed on the floor. I feel a little guilty that she sleeping on the floor but I did try to make it as comfortable as possible. (feather bed, lots of blankets...) And she seems to be perfectly happy with it. In the mean time we will be getting her day bed ready!!!

Her she is sleeping - I mean really sleeping - in her temporary bed. By morning time she finds no use for her blanket or pillow.

Since I was sneaking around the house taking pictures of my sleeping baby I thought I better take a picture of my other baby!!!
(I think my favorite thing about blogging is putting funny pictures of Aaron on!!!)

Bye Bye Binky!!!!

((This post will probably only mean something to those mother's that have had kids/babies that absolutely love their binky and can't wait for the day that they get rid of it!))

I am very happy to report that Abby is done with the binky!! We are on Day 4 now and things are looking great!! I wasn't even planning on taking it away, but it just happened, so that was very nice for me. She has been on the sick side lately and has had a runny nose, therefore when she is trying to sleep she can't suck on the binky and breathe, so I just took it away. I feel bad that it took a runny nose, cough, and ear infection to finally toss the binky, because she uses her binky as a comfort.......but she is a tough girl and has asked about it a few times but we haven't had any breakdowns.
I really hope Grandma Garner is reading this!! She was always giving me a hard time about Abby and her binky! I know you will be proud!

Spring is on its way!!

I'm very excited that spring is coming! This picture says it best! A spring dress, bare feet, and the sun shining!!!

Kissin' Cousins!

I was going to post this awhile ago but forgot.....but Abby and Brayden are so cute together and adore each other. When they see each other it is nothing but excitement, and Abby knows where Brayden lives and when we drive by their apartments from the main road she shouts "BB, BB" (stands for Brayden Bigelow, Aaron started that) When they move to their new house she is going to be confused for awhile. I just wanted to post these couple pictures of Abby and Brayden playing together, usually they are hugging or Brayden is running away because he thinks Abby is chasing her. I'm sure this is just the start of a long lasting friendship!!

So much to do.........so little time!

Just some fun pictures.......

Abby loves to haul her little chairs around so she can get to the stuff she can't reach. It is starting to be a problem! Her favorite is to put the chair by her light switch and turn it on and off, but I think in the picture right above she is trying to figure out where she can hide the thermometer!

That is my little mommy to be! She can already multi task ......... I tried to explain to her that mommies don't have Binky's!

Napping on the couch, I guess all the trouble making and vacuuming finally caught up with her.

Happy Birthday To Me!

My birthday balloon that Abby absolutely loves....our neighbor gave it to me with some candy, she is too sweet.

This past Wednesday was my birthday - the big 24! And I had a great day. Thank you Aaron for taking me to breakfast and thank you Abby for sleeping in!! Thanks mom and dad for spending the afternoon/evening with us, we had a great time! Thanks everyone who called, gave cards, and sent emails. Oh yeah, and thank you Christy for making me a cake! You are awesome! Now that is a a lot of thanks.......but it all means a lot.

Abby went potty.....2 times!

Lately Abby has been fascinated with the toilet so I've been putting her on the toilet (big one) and she would just sit there and giggle. So a couple days ago I decided I would purchase a potty chair for Abby and think about starting the adventure of potty training. So the next day after dinner I put her on and she went within 5 minutes. Of course we were ecstatic and very surprised. Abby didn't even act like it was a big deal she just went on with her life. Of course we were giving her praise, treats, and a sticker for her "potty chart." The rest of the night she kept going and sitting on her potty and kept telling me she needed to go but never did, but I was excited because today after lunch I sat her on (it was like the 3rd time today she sat) and she went after like 15 minutes. We still have a very long long ways to go but it is still kind of exciting to see her actually going and somewhat catching on. Anyways I'll quit rambling and I apologize that there isn't anything to exciting going on in our lives so you have to hear about Abby's potty adventures. Here are a few pictures:

I'm all done, now get me off of this thing!

Holy Cow! What just happened!! Her potty seat even sings after she goes, although the first time she went we didn't have it on so she didn't get to hear any singing.

She loves to stand on her potty and wash her hands, this really is her favorite part.

She even likes to carry it around and use it as a chair when she gets tired.

Hope everyone is enjoying conference!
