Photo Session with Abby!

April 22, 2012
Being my own photographer is a great way to save money....and I enjoy it! Shoot, when you can print 4x6's at Costco for .09 cents (coupon)! I just re-did a frame in my living room for .72 cents! I don't claim to be professional ..... my Canon Powershot is anything but top notch. I do like to take pictures of the kids a lot.... almost everyday actually. So, here is a a serious picture overload of Ms. Abby. I did not tell her what to do I just snapped and snapped continuously....and this is what we got:
(and yes you can see this hot photographer's reflection in the sliding glass door......like I said I'm not professional and there is nothing wrong with a covered BBQ grill in the background!)

Rodeo Days

April 19, 2012
I mentioned that in school Abby was learning all about Rodeos, and on this day they had Rodeo Days, or maybe they called it Cowgirl/Cowboy Days and everyone dressed up!
Abby is such a natural with pictures in her own Abby way!

She also wore this cowgirl getup back in 2008 for Halloween!

Working in the garden

April 14, 2012
I still have to do my BIG garden post, and give the history behind it...... but for now I must talk about how much my Abby loves our garden and working in it. She is always saying how important it is that we take good care of our garden so the vegetable can grow. This garden has inherited many rocks, which is part of the mystery story...... and Abby loves to help us pick rocks out of the garden. This particular Saturday she stayed our in that garden by herself for quite sometime putting rocks in her wheelbarrow! She was so proud of herself, and of course I was too!
So far we have planted peas, carrots, onions, and that is it. Red potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini still to come! (I plan on making some very yummy peas, carrots, and potatoes in white sauce....a favorite growing up) Are you wondering how I can fit all those veges in that little spot? I can do it.
I've been telling the kids the importance of watering the garden, weeding it, and of course praying for it and having faith it will grow. Well the peas are already up and looking great. Abby told me, "Mom you must be praying hard!"
I love my little family and I love my little garden! Lets hope for a bounteous harvest!

Rodeo

April 13, 2012

We had so much fun at the RO-DAY-O! Because the Rodeo was coming to Pocatello, at school Abby was learning all about Rodeos and all that goes with it. So, we were very excited when a friend had extra tickets and gave them to us!! So on Friday night we got our one and only cowboy hat out and headed to the Rodeo! Some of the highlights of the night: of course the clown, buckin' broncos, barrel racing, NACHOS, and the I think the favorite part for all us hands down is when the DIZZY BULL made his appearance! I have never seen anything like it.....so the cowboy was on the bull and it was spinning in circles while buckin' like they often do. The cowboy fell off, but the bull kept spinning and spinning and then in became dizzy and tipped over...for reals! They got the bull up and he staggered like a dizzy drunk through the gates! Very funny, and the kids love to tell this story to everyone, heck I love to tell it. You could hear the crowd laughing!
The rodeo was great, stinky fun! Abby was so excited to go to school and tell all about her rodeo experience
Yeehaw!

Fiscal Fast & Smoothies.....

So I am on a "fiscal fast" this week, which means I am not spending money this whole week. It is a little competition Aaron and I have going...... I will talk more about that and my fiscal fast in a later post.
The kids wanted to go to Sonic for "Happy Hour" for .50 slushys. We love happy hour at Sonic in our home! I said no, mommy is on a fiscal fast......then Abby said make us a smoothie, which is another thing we do often in our home... well I hadn't been to a grocery store so I didn't have fresh fruit or anything, but I did have some very ripe bananas and I made up this concoction: 2 very ripe bananas, 3 gogurts we used Strawberry, hand full of ice, some apple juice and WALA the kids were smiling! Abby even said it was better than Jamba Juice! I know this isn't really much of a concoction.....I always make smoothies like this.....but I was just really proud of myself this day!
