Abby's Lemonade Stand
On July 9th Abby ran a very successful lemonade stand for a great cause!! She had been wanting to do a lemonade stand, so I decided to let her only if all money made went to Brooklyn's Playground. Our community has been raising money to build an all inclusive playground for children of ALL abilities. It is named after an adorable 5 year old girl in our community who has spinal bifida. This little girl's parent have been amazing in this effort to raise money for this playground, not just for their child, but all children. To learn more visit brooklynsplayground.org.
So, Abby had her regular lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and some cookies that her and Grandma Allen made together, and she was open for business! Aaron and I went to our cell phones and reached out to our Pocatello contacts. Between awesome family, great neighbors, and wonderful friends she did awesome. I think she lasted from 10:00 that morning till 3:oo that afternoon. We decided she is quite the sales lady (like her daddy)! Abby is not shy with our neighbors, she had no problem telling them she was having a lemonade stand and all the money would go to Brooklyn. We didn't put a price on anything just any donation was great, but Abby started telling people it was $5.00, or should would quickly count how many dollar bills someone was holding and tell them that was how much it would cost! What is so great, is Aaron's boss matched what Abby made (and a little bit more) and she ended up taking a check to Brooklyn's family for $300! I can't remember but I think Abby made about $130...? Somewhere close to that. It was overall a great experience for Abby where I had the opportunity to teach her some important lessons about service, genourosity, and love, and she got to learn about service, genourousity and love!

Happy 4th!!
I LOVE the 4th of July, one of my favorite holidays! It was a great day! We always always eat very YUMMY crepes made by my mom-in-law Cindy before we head off to the Inkom parade. A perfect tradition! This year we also went to the movie Rio after lunch with the Moore Clan. Aaron stayed home while Stockton napped (and Aaron too!) and just Abby and I went to the movie........Then later that day we enjoyed a fabulous BBQ at my parents. Then Aaron put on a little firework show for us (my mom and I went and purchased the fireworks....), then we watched the fabulous fireworks at the fairgrounds... Also known as the "biggest show in Idaho" ... whatever that means)! The kids loved staying up late! Great 4th of July.
