Abby's Summer Baseball

June and July 2012
Abby loved playing baseball this summer. This year she was in the coach pitch league and she did great. She was on the Bengals team and her coach, Amanda, is a great softball player at ISU. I love watching Abby get in her batting stance, from her face you think she is going to hit it out of the park, but it is usually a perfect hit close to pitchers mound! Abby is a fast runner and really started to understand the outfield techniques. She loved to tag people out or throw it home. Whenever she did something great she would look at me to make sure I cheer for her. She is all about the cheering, she would often tell me I don't cheer loud enough (the cheerleader in her)! Before her games we would talk about what she wanted to do better at and just go over the basics and she would tell me that she was going to pretend that someone was chasing her when she ran, and she would think of something that made her really mad before she hit the ball. I just love my Abby! No matter what she does she gives it her all!

Love it! I love a girl who loves baseball. Abby is my kind of girl. I hope my kids like baseball/softball as much as Abby does. I love her stance and I love how into the game she is. To get the rules at 5 is very impressive! Now she just needs to learn how to slide, spit and how to sing "Take Me out to the Ball Game" and she'll be a 100% baseball girl! :)
