On 6.29.2012, the same day Stockton got stitches, in the later afternoon a devastating fire started in Pocatello that burned 66 homes and 29 out buildings down. It took days to contain and turned our amazing Pocatello Community upside down in sadness. Because of our amazing community, it also brought many people together. In my previous post I shared the video about the LDS Church Helping Hands project to help the victims in the "Charlotte Fire." Aaron took part in this event and he came home black from top to bottom, and said it was an amazing, spiritual experience. This was just one of the many events and actions people took to help out. Weeks later Aaron and I drove up to the areas affected and we were in shock and disbelief as we saw house after house burned to nothing. Many of these people Aaron knew from the 7 plus years he spent at State Farm. We had three people in our ward that had family that were involved. That morning the nurse that helped stitch Stockton up, we later found out she lost her home. Such devastation. Made all of us realize that things are just things....family is everything. Nobody was injured or killed in this fire.
Here are a few pics from Century High School.
