Swim Lessons!
Started August 7, 2012 and went for 2 weeks.
This was Stockton's first year doing swim lessons and the first day was a disaster! He was so excited to do swim and that is all he could talk/think about. Then we showed up and he froze, (I wasn't really that surprised to be honest...) and he spent most of the time sitting on the side.....thankfully the 2nd lesson went better and every one after that..... he had me worried and ready to ask for my money back! Thank you patient teacher!! Stockton loves the water and is definitely not as timid as his sister!! Stockton does not like meeting new people and being in new social atmospheres, unlike his sister who does just fine with that! I hear Abby chatting it up with her teacher a minute into her class! A little bit of opposites....
This is Abby's 3rd year in swim and I don't feel like she had really progressed much. Abby doesn't love water, or I guess she loves water just doesn't like to go under the water...which is kind of important in swimming. Needless to say whether swimming lessons is that successful every year, I still find it important to do and the kids really do have fun, especially sitting in the hot tub after class!
I have learned over the years to wait and put the kids in lessons in August....because no one else does and I get private lessons for regular price!! Or I scan through all the classes and find the ones that no one is in and just take the crappy 4:00 in the afternoon time. So worth it!
