4th of July

We had a great 4th of July 2012!
We spent it with Grandma and Grandpa Moore and Caleb & Krista and family in Inkom Stinkom.....my dad taught me that when I was young and would go with him to Soda Springs to haul cows to our ranch, now my kids do the same thing. We enjoyed the Inkom parade and community festivities, played in the water, ate yummy food, had our own firework show with at Uncle Caleb's house, and then enjoyed the best show in Idaho that takes place at the fairgrounds. What I remember most about this day is how tired I was when it was all over!! Great memories! I love the USA!!!

Stockton, Abby, Brayden ... missing Parker

waiting for parade

Parker and Stockton - best buddies!

These 2 say they are boyfriend and girlfriend....kissing cousins I say!! Definitely will tease them about it when they are older!

If you wave you get more candy, that is what we told him!

Tired best buddies holding hands and waiting in line.....so cute!

Abby getting her face painted - FIREWORKS!

Loved watching her hold this still!

Stockton's turn! Basketball on one cheek and football on the other cheek... of course!

Abby is quite the negotiater... she gets it from both of us...and she loves talking to people........gets that more from her dad! Grandma gave each kid $2  and believe me Abby was going to get every penny out of that $2! So she sets off on her own trying to figure out what to do....she sees this fingernail booth and realized she didn't want to blow all her money there so she talked to the lady and before long she got 1 nail done for free! She still has her $2! It is hot so she decides to use a buck to buy a water,  with $1 left out she went to find something to buy.... story continues below....

free fingernail and water in hand.....$1 left

Story continues..... she is walking around and finds a food vendor and asks how much the hamburgers are and they could see she only has $1......they didn't cost a $1 but the nice people let her have it anyway! So a hamburger, fingernail, and water all for $2. Not bad.....! By the way, she wasn't even hungry and didn't even eat the hamburger....more of the thrill of the chase for her!

my cool red, white, and blue drink I mixed together

Firework show by Uncle Caleb with some help from Aaron!

Watching the Biggest Show In Idaho!
Kids are all awake and still happy!

On 6.29.2012, the same day Stockton got stitches, in the later afternoon a devastating fire started in Pocatello that burned 66 homes and 29 out buildings down. It took days to contain and turned our amazing Pocatello Community upside down in sadness. Because of our amazing community, it also brought many people together. In my previous post I shared the video about the LDS Church Helping Hands project to help the victims in the "Charlotte Fire." Aaron took part in this event and he came home black from top to bottom, and said it was an amazing, spiritual experience. This was just one of the many events and actions people took to help out. Weeks later Aaron and I drove up to the areas affected and we were in shock and disbelief as we saw house after house burned to nothing. Many of these people Aaron knew from the 7 plus years he spent at State Farm. We had three people in our ward that had family that were involved. That morning the nurse that helped stitch Stockton up, we later found out she lost her home. Such devastation. Made all of us realize that things are just things....family is everything. Nobody was injured or killed in this fire.
Here are a few pics from Century High School.

Mormon Helping Hands Pocatello, Idaho Wildfire

6.29.12
Our first experience as parents with stitches!
Who was the lucky one..... STOCKTON!
He was finishing up breakfast, kneeling....KNEELING I say, on the barstool (I might add our kids drop like flies off these barstools....it was only time til blood and a cut would show up! Just sit on your flipping bum and stop messing around and you will remain sitting! But why would my kids want to listen to me.....I always tell them that their ears are painted on their head!) So.... like I was saying, Stockton was kneeling on the barstool finishing up breakfast and I walked out for 2 seconds to use the ladies room and BAM  I hear a thud and yell to Aaron, who is getting ready for work, Stockton just fell off the barstool... I just knew it, like I said it wasn't the first time I've heard that thud coming from the kitchen. So Aaron found Stockton staggering out of the kitchen and I hear Aaron say my name in that voice that I just knew a hug and kiss wouldn't be good enough for this injury. He didn't hit anything sharp, so we are guessing the impact of the fall is what split it open, I'm just grateful he didn't get a concussion. At first we went back and forth wondering if we should take him in or not, but we decided to and we grateful we did because as soon as the Doc saw it he said "oh yeah, he is going to need a few stitches."  This was a crazy morning for us because Abby had an early baseball game. Luckily, we got the stitches in and had time to run home and put Abby's uniform on and throw her hair in a pony tail and then we were off to her game! I'm also grateful that Aaron hadn't gone to work yet and could join in on all the fun with us. Abby didn't like watching her brother go through this so I needed someone to take care of her!

At Portneuf Immediate Care......not a happy camper, although he looks like he is trying not to smile! I'm just glad it didn't bleed out of control!

Doc putting 4 stitches in. Stockton did really well on the first 2 stitches and not so good on the last 2!

Drive home......he is traumatized!

Home and much happier!

Getting ready for the needle!!!

He did not like the needle.....it did get it somewhat numb, but unfortunately they had to  do more after the 1st stitch because he was flinching so bad and it needed to be numb more. So we got the needle 2 times. Stockton was not happy, he doesn't like people touching him.....so you can imagine how this went....!

6.29.12
Next day .... cute photos of his owie!
Stockton took his owie seriously.... if you said the prayer and did not bless his owie then you had to say it again. He always wore his hat to protect it from the sun. And he even gave in and let me put a band aid on it!! Why is that shocking.... well unlike most kids Stockton's age he does not like band aids at all! And does not ask for them ever.....nope not for every little minor owie on his body like most kids do! Thankfully, he finally let me put one on him!

look at that drool!!

sporting his band aid!
I thought that this minor injury would slow Stockton down a little....well, it didn't! He was still jumping off of everything and being the crazy, accident prone kid that he is!! But I have noticed that he sits on the barstool a little more careful!!

If you are wondering how it went when we took out the stitches.....well not good! I did not get any pictures because it was just me and him at the Doc's and he was tired at the time and pretty much screamed through the whole thing! We made it, and he still got to go to the Dollar Store!

Fire Station Fun!

June 2, 2012
We had a lot of fun at t he fire station with friends!!
Thank you to all the fire fighters who put on this awesome open house, my kids were smiling the whole time and had a blast!!

This was Abby's favorite part....no surprise there!

With friends Bo and Bodi....not sure where Madi went??

With Caleb!

Stockton wanted to spray the hose so bad! But he doesn't like strangers.....which is a good thing.... after I told him that the firefighter was a nice person and it was ok to stand by him he did it, but as you can tell he refused to look at the man!

all decked out in the their firefighter get up!

Few more from my phone....

My Grandma Allen had knee replacement surgery in May, therefore, my Aunt Tena and cousin Preston were in Pocatello visiting a lot off and on to help out with everything.
We loved having Preston hang out with us!!!
