The Kitchen Remodel.....

We are remodeling our kitchen! Yay, Yay, Yay!!! We bought our townhouse almost a year ago, and we said that eventually we would do a complete, much needed, remodel on the kitchen. Well, eventually has arrived!! We knew we were going to do it this summer, but we have decided to get it done now and out of the way so we can enjoy the rest of the summer in our new kitchen! And also,,, my brother Clay is here from Washington and he has motivated us to get going and is able to be a HUGE help to us. He has made all of our thoughts and plans turn to action! So with the help of Clay (our contractor/boss), my dad (the other contractor/boss), and Aaron (my handy man in training!!) we are in the middle of getting this kitchen done! Right now we are living without a kitchen, so we just pretty much sleep at our house. It is a good thing my parents are here and almost settled, it has made this sooo much easier and it is nice to have somewhere to go so Abby can nap, eat, and play and all that good stuff! The only bad thing is we probably won't be able to get our counter top for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks so it is that much longer without a kitchen sink and any type of organization. But it is all good and will be fun, right?

So, here are a few BEFORE pictures:


I'm so happy to get rid of those cupboards!! They always had a funny smell. And that light....well I just don't like it.


There is the flooring..........UGLY!!! We will be putting some lovely tile down.


We will be replacing these bifolds, which is where the laundry room area is.


Then there is the sink and faucet, which will be going!


Now it is time to DEMOLISH!!! Bye Bye to the upper cupboards!!!

Abby got in on the fun as well and loved helping me organize the stuff that went in our new cupboards!


Now it is time to demolish the lower cupboards and the rest of the kitchen!!

This is as far as we are in the project. I will post some more when we get going on the tile, installing the lower cabinets, and the finished project! Thanks Dad and Clay for all your help!!
