Spring Break 2012

Mexican Riviera Cruise
March 25 to April 1

I'm tired after uploading all these photos.... will add text later!
It is later...time to add text!

Here we are in Long Beach waiting to board The Carnival Splendor. In the background is the Queen Mary, who serves as a hotel and a tourist attraction. The trip did not start off the greatest, because the weather was rainy and cold in Long Beach and we had to wait outside for a few hours to get on out boat!! But it wasn't to bad.....I was just eager for SUN and more SUN!
Carnival Splendor....those would be our life boats. Check out the basketball hoop on top!

A picture as we are leaving Long Beach and headed to Cabo! So we were at sea part of Sunday, all day Monday and then arrived in Cabo San Lucas on Tuesday at our first port and our first fun day at shore!

Every night our cute cleaning lady - who would clean our room 2 times a day - left us with a cute towel folding animal (seal) and the agenda for the next day. Our "stateroom" was on Deck 7, which was perfect we were only one floor away from the Lido, which was the deck for the pizza and ice cream which was served 24 hours, and the big buffet!!

The water slide on our ship on the top deck which would be Deck 12.

View of Deck 12. Grasping the handrail was very important especially when I was wearing my black slippery flip-flops!

There was also miniature golf on the top deck and we played it a lot! Some of the days at sea it was pretty windy up there but we played through it! Below is a picture of Aaron and I holding up our #1 fingers because we both got a hole-in-one on this hole the same round!

24 hour ice cream baby! Aaron LOVED LOVED LOVED the strawberry. I thought he was going to to go to the Captain one morning when we went up and found out there was no strawberry, but don't worry it was back the next day!
In the evening we dined in the Black or was it Gold I can't remember......so Black or Gold Dining Room. Here we are on one of the "dress up" evenings (this is as dressy as we get). We ate lots of food here.....breads, appetizer, main dish, and dessert every night. No limit! Order whatever you want! How much you want! And the people that serve you are the nicest, sweetest, hardest working people ever!!

Another towel animal............is it a bear?
When we ported in Cabo we took these blue boats, called tender boats, to shore.
Lovely shot of myself.... but this is the CaboMar the boat we took on our Land and Sea tour we went on in Cabo. We spent 2 days in Cabo, Tuesday and Wednesday.
More pictures of us in Cabo:

I had Aaron take this picture of me and Senor Frogs in the background because I loved the frog. I later found out that it is the hip happening bar in town!

A group shot! My lovely parents who took us on this trip!! I'm sure I'll say it again but they were lots of fun to be with, and they are veteran cruisers!

Our boat!

In the background the famous Arch at Lovers Beach which is where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. This is the famous spot in Cabo! It is all about getting the perfect picture of you and the Arch!!

At a little restaurant, we had some authentic shrimp tacos. It was okay, we washed it down with a coke just to be safe!
This is at a nice resort. Lovers beach in the background.

This was at the glass factory. Pretty amazing, he made this turtle for us.

Our lady told us this was a snowman.....???

Day 2 in Cabo:
We went to go swim with dolphins but it was all booked......
We decided we wanted to parasail and we came across a guy wearing a BYU hat and he hooked us up with parasailing!! It was so fun, relaxing and just awesome! And it was a great price. We saved over $50 a piece by doing it was this guy rather than booking it with the Carnival excursions! Yes we did see duct tape and carabeaners that didn't look like they were locked as we headed up in the air. But we are alive and it was fun!!

Beach in Cabo.

Our cool hats we bought in Cabo. I must say I loved negoitiating and bargaining with the folks when it comes to buying things!!

a puppy....

These pictures are from Puerto Vallarata, which was our last place we ported at, which was Thursday for the whole day.
This statue above me is a REAL guy!

Yep, this guy is real too!

A really cool church in Puerto.

The older part of the town in Pureto.

Above: This guy is making me my Boise State bracelet that I negotiated for!

Had some fun at the beach!

There were no kids at the waterslide so I jumped on that and had some fun!

Pictures of Puerta Vallarta from the ship:
Walmart

Above is a big, cool mall that we walked down to. It was very nice!

A sexy bunny! That is what she told me!

We played some bingo, unfortunaley we didn't win!

The bracelet

elephant!

On our last night she left us a heart!

So we headed back on Friday and were at sea Friday and Saturday and arrived in Long Beach on Sunday morning.
This was my first cruise, and it was lots of fun. I missed the kids so much! We didn't get to talk to them much because it was so expensive!
I feel like I have missed so much and so much more happened on our trip but how can you write every detail about 7 days, right? This is better than nothing!
I'm so grateful to my parents for taking us on this fun vacation! It was great for Aaron and I to get away and have some fun in the sun! And I got a headstart on my tan and got to throw out my diet for a whole week!!! The kids had a great with GG Moore. They were spoiled rotten and and never stopped having fun!! Abby was a little homesick and was a little difficult so thank you Cindy for your patience with her! And Stockton did suprisingly great! Thank you Jim and Cindy!!! So so much!
What a great Spring Break! And I look forward to the vacations when the kids get to come with us!!
